I thought I should share about Leopard Cats (Prionailurus bengalensis). Though listed as Least Concerned by IUCN are highly in danger of extinction in Taiwan. I might be annoying, but I’m sure more kids grow up getting excited about lions….then about...

I thought I should share about Leopard Cats (Prionailurus bengalensis). Though listed as Least Concerned by IUCN are highly in danger of extinction in Taiwan.
I might be annoying, but I’m sure more kids grow up getting excited about lions….then about this fiery little one.

Somehow people are really afraid about getting attacked and eaten by them….I think you should probably be more concerned about getting hit by car or peeps DUI.


They live in a small county, Miaoli 苗栗,with population less than 500. Many are hit by car, killed for depredating chickens, die from pesticide toxicosis, and face habitat loss from development as children of farmers seek for land development. There has been a combination of education and compensation programs by the Leopard Cat Association, but it will be a continued effort to conserve this species.
